ChangeTires

It goes without saying that a vehicle is a pretty large investment, and the responsibility of maintaining its parts and systems can protect it in the long run. Many people avoid regular vehicle maintenance, sometimes as just a means of cutting costs. What they don’t realize, however, is that ignoring routine maintenance can wind up costing you more in the long run. It’s through the routine of regularly-scheduled maintenance that owners can extend the road life, maximize fuel efficiency, and retain resale value for their vehicle.

Oil and filter changes are just a few of the important maintenance items that need to be done throughout the life of your car. While some maintenance items are more frequent than others, they all play a role in the overall care of your car. Below is a list of important maintenance services that should be kept up to date, in order to get the most life out of your car. Visit a Mazda dealer in Phoenix if you have any questions about servicing your vehicle.

Tires
Tires are one of the most important elements of a vehicle. Always check for signs of wear. If they look to be wearing out, it’s time to get them replaced.

Motor oil
For the best results, you should get an oil change every 3,000 miles or three months, whichever comes first. Be sure to add in a filter change as well.  Regular oil changes will save you from having to make costly engine repairs later on.

Battery
Ask your Mazda Service Advisor to ensure the battery cover is in place and that the battery is firmly anchored. If there is any corrosion on the battery, it needs to be cleaned off immediately, especially at the electrical posts.

Brakes
If you hear any unusual noises or feel a small tug on the steering wheel when braking, your brakes need to be checked. The standard rule for checking brakes, even if you don’t have these warning signs, is at every 6,000 to 7,000 miles.

Coolant
Every other year, you should thoroughly flush your coolant systems and then replace with the right antifreeze solution. This will keep the risk of metal deterioration small and the system flowing smoothly. Once a month you can make smaller checks of the coolant system and windshield washer reservoir, and top them off as needed with the right amount of fluid.

These are just a few of the parts of your vehicle that require regular maintenance. If you need assistance with the maintenance of your car, visit Chapman Mazda.
