First Turbocharged Engine in SKYACTIV Family

After doing research on how drivers actually use large SUVs, Mazda developed the powerplant for the CX-9 to deliver torque instead of horsepower. The vehicle utilizes Mazda’s patented SKYACTIV technology, where all components work together to create the most efficient mode of transportation possible. The 2.5-liter four cylinder engine in the CX-9 is the first SKYACTIV engine to have a turbocharger, providing plenty of boost off the line. The result is an excellent real-world driving vehicle that has no problem with freeway merges or passing trucks on long inclines. Stay in touch with Chapman Mazda to see when the first CX-9 arrives this spring.

CX-9 Adds Signature Trim Level

Although Mazda will continue the Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trim packages for the CX-9, it is adding a new premium Signature package for those who enjoy driving a luxury SUV. Such features as rosewood trim, aluminum molding on the doors and premium leather seating are all standard on the Signature line. All the trim packages will benefit from a new laminated glass package and extra sound deadening material in the floor. The new Mazda CX-9 will be one of the quietest SUVs on the market.

New SUV Loaded Up on Technology Front

Along with new driver assistance safety features like blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist and collision mitigation braking, the Mazda CX-9 is also loaded with fun tech features. A heads up display projects important vehicle information like fuel level, speed and temperature on the windshield in the driver’s line of sight. The Mazda Connect system provides audio, hands free communication and optional navigation on a large touchscreen. The Mazda i-ACTIVE all wheel drive system has sensors that quickly process road conditions and deliver the right amount of power to each wheel to keep you under control.

KODO – Soul of Motion Delivers Aggressive Design

When you first see the new Mazda CX-9 at Chapman Mazda, you’ll notice the unique design that makes the vehicle seem like it’s in motion even when it is standing still. That’s part of Mazda’s signature Soul of Motion design that is quickly becoming part of the entire Mazda lineup. The goal is to connect with each driver on an emotional level that makes each car a work of art and not just another vehicle. This ancient Japanese design technique prizes simplicity, but is able to breathe life into each Mazda vehicle.

Test Drives Result in Volunteer Hours

When Mazda ran its “Drive for Good” promotion late last year, the result was not only more than $5 million donated to local charities across the country, but also almost 60,000 volunteer hours given by Mazda employees. For every test drive taken during the promotion, Mazda donated one hour of volunteer time to a charity. For every vehicle sold or leased, the company gave $150 to charities like the American Red Cross, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, the American Heart Association or one of 40 local charities. Social media was abuzz with reports of donations to charities that make a difference in the lives of less fortunate people every day. Record Sales Help Provide Money for Charity

Whether Mazda’s charitable promotions help sales or whether sales help the promotion is a question akin to the venerable chicken and the egg. What can’t be debated is the fact that the company boasted a 18.1 percent increase in December of 2015 over the previous year on its way to the best year since 1994. The company sold just over 319,000 vehicles, spurred by the CX-5 topping the 100,000 vehicle sales mark for the first time. The revamped Miata also had its best year wince 2008, selling 8,591 vehicles. If you’re checking the Internet for the best Phoenix Mazda deal, give Chapman Mazda a try. Not Only Charitable, But Efficient as Well

The United States Environmental Protection Agency recently released a report naming Mazda as the most fuel-efficient automaker in the nation. By using SKYACTIV Technology, Mazda has created an integrated system that makes all vehicle components work together, increasing energy efficiency and fuel mileage. “At Mazda, driving matters and so does fuel economy,” according toe Mazda CEO Jim O’Sullivan. “Using SKYACTIV Technology, Mazda has been able to achieve class-leading fuel efficiency in nearly every segment it competes in.”

2016 ½ Model Comes With Added Value

Mazda is in a benevolent mood following the winter holidays, adding a number of standard features to the CX-5, one of the best selling compact crossover vehicles in America. As part of a mid-model year refresher, Mazda has added a standard rearview camera to all models equipped with the SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission. Touring and Grand Touring models now come with standard navigation, while customers purchasing the Touring trim package also get heated front seats as part of the included package. “The added content in 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 reflects our customers’ tastes toward premium features in a compelling, fun-to-drive, stylish crossover,” said Mazda senior vice-president Robert Davis. SKYACTIV Technology Creates Efficient Harmony

Mazda’s patented SKYACTIV Technology system, simply put, is an engineering marvel that causes each of the vehicle’s components to work together to create an efficient vehicle with plenty of performance and limited emissions. The SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine creates plenty of torque while consuming less gasoline than other engines with similar power. Mazda has reworked the combustion engine to use more of the potential gasoline energy. By raising the compression ratio and overcoming engine heating challenges with a unique fuel injection system, SKYACTIV Technology increase gasoline efficiency by up to 15 percent. Engineers also reduced friction within the engine by up to 33 percent, making sure more of the power is transferred to the wheels. The result is up to 35 miles per gallon for this SUV that also provides a dynamic driving experience.

Plenty of Room for Kids, Co-workers

The Mazda CX-5, with its superior performance and fuel efficiency, is the perfect car for hauling kids around town or volunteering for the office carpool. With loads of room for five adults and tons of cargo, it is bigger than either the Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tucson. A 60/40 split rear seat with multiple folding options provides plenty of room for skis or your child’s oboe while still providing two seats in the rear.

Safety Features Give Drivers Peace of Mind

Along with all its technological advancements, the CX-5 is also packed with safety features that provide peace of mind when the going gets rough. Advanced safety options like smart brake support helps you avoid collisions if the person ahead of you stops suddenly. A distance recognition support system helps you keep a comfortable distance between you and the car ahead when traveling at freeway speeds. Adaptive front lighting makes the headlights bend around curves, giving you the chance to see obstacles before they become a problem. The CX-5 is really a technological marvel that is not only fascinating, but also fun to drive. Experience the joy for yourself by taking a trip to Chapman Mazda.
