First Mazda Diesel in North America

If you can wait until the middle of next year to buy your new midsize SUV, Mazda announced that the sporty CX-5 will have a diesel option. Providing more torque and environmentally-friendly emissions, the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel will make the Mazda CX-5 one of the most fuel efficient SUVS on the road. “We’re confident this engine offers a smart new option for North American drivers who want both performance and fuel economy,” according to Mazda VP Akira Marumoto. The new diesel CX-5 will be available to test drive at Chapman Mazda on Bell Road sometime next summer.

New CX-5 for All Customers to Enjoy

The original CX-5 midsize SUV, launched in 2011, was the second fastest Mazda to reach one million units sold. The all new version that will be available in February adds a new dimension of driving pleasure for all customers to enjoy, including the passengers. Prioritizing passenger comfort by keeping road noise out and delivering a smooth ride, the new CX-5 is perfect for both long trips or hosting the office carpool. A bold and sensual exterior utilizes the overriding Mazda theme of KODO-Soul of Motion design.

KODO Emphasizes Craftsmanship and Fluidity

KODO-Soul of Motion is an ancient Japanese design philosophy that captures objects in action at the moment their energy explodes. Elegant detail and fluidity is the key to this design, which is the theme for the design of all Mazda vehicles. At Mazda, the design starts with hands forming clay into stunning creations that eventually evolve into a vehicle. Each artist painstakingly sculpts a piece of the vehicle using love and care, a process that makes the Mazda lineup some of the most dynamic and beautiful vehicles on Earth. The CX-5 is both bold and athletic while delivering a sophisticated driving experience at an affordable price.

CX-5 Cabin is ‘Driver-Centric’

The world revolves around the operator in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 to emphasize the joy of driving. With an active driving display in your line of sight to relay important vehicle information and the Commander control knob within easy reach, each button and control is laid out with precision and an incredible amount of forethought. The quiet cabin is the perfect place to add the premium Bose sound system so you and your passengers can enjoy the ride surrounded by a symphony of your favorite sound. The all new CX-5 is slated for delivery to Chapman Mazda on Bell Road this coming February.

Retractable Hardtop Two Months Ahead of Schedule

The very first 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF has been delivered in North America, meaning customers can expect the retractable hardtop sportster to start showing up on the showroom floor at Chapman Mazda very soon. Mazda CEO Masahiro Moro delivered the first RF at theLos Angeles Auto Show recently, two months ahead of the announced delivery date. “Mazda is a unique and special car company that aims to do more than simply sell cars,” Moro said. “We want to build lifelong relationships with our customers and fans, providing them a fulfilling ownership experience they couldn’t get anywhere else.”

RF Stands for Retractable Fastback

It takes just 13 seconds to either retract or put up the power-operated hard top in the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF. Based on the Miata that won the title of “World Car of the Year” in 2016, the RF offers a coupe-like feel and more premium interior features. The two-passenger roadster provides a premium open-air driving experience when the weather is nice, with the ability to quickly protect you from the elements when Mother Nature shows her angry side. Powered by a SKYACTIV 2.0L 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, the Miata RF is a blast to drive in a tight urban environment or on an open country road. Double wishbone suspension with monotube dampers in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear provides plenty of control for those who like to drive aggressively.

RF comes in Club and Grand Touring Trim Packages

You can only get the retractable hardtop in the Mazda MX-5 Miata Club and Grand Touring trim packages. Along with the hardtop, you’ll receive a 4.6-inch color touchscreen gauge display. If you want the RF Launch Edition, it’s based on the Grand Touring package and is the only model that provides Nappa leather and a hand-painted top. Whether you can wait for the RF to arrive at Chapman Mazda on Bell Road or need a sports car now, the Mazda Miata is widely recognized as the best value for the money. Starting at just $24,915 for the Sport model, the Miata provides a rear-wheel drive alternative to other small sports cars while delivering a lively and responsive ride that can make a driver of any age feel young. Weighing in at just a little over a ton, the power to weight ratio not only delivers quick acceleration and high-end torque, but also helps you pass a lot of gas stations on the way to 36 miles per gallon.
